What this calculator does
A pressure-temperature (PT) chart converts a refrigerant's gauge pressure to its saturation temperature, the number you need to calculate superheat and subcooling. This app is a digital PT chart for the refrigerants techs use most, with no laminated card to lose.
How it is used
- Read suction pressure → suction saturation temperature for superheat.
- Read liquid pressure → liquid saturation temperature for subcooling.
- Account for temperature glide on zeotropic blends like R-410A and R-454B, where bubble and dew points differ.
Worked example
On R-410A, a suction pressure near 118 psig corresponds to roughly 40°F saturation. If the suction line reads 52°F, superheat is 12°F.

Common refrigerants such as R-410A, R-22, R-134a, and R-404A, plus newer low-GWP options like R-454B and R-32. Each has its own pressure-temperature relationship.
What is temperature glide?
Zeotropic blends evaporate and condense across a range rather than a single temperature, so the chart shows separate bubble (liquid) and dew (vapor) points. Using the correct one matters for accurate superheat and subcooling.
