Questions

Before you install

Which code editions does it use?

NEC 2023, NFPA 13-2022 and the other NFPA standards by edition, IPC and UPC, IRC, ACCA and ASHRAE references. The edition is part of every citation, because standards renumber between cycles. Always verify against the edition adopted in your jurisdiction.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Every calculation runs on the phone. No account, no sign-up, no connection required.

Does a result replace the engineer or the inspector?

No. TradeTools is a design aid: it shows the math and the table or section it came from so you can check it against the book. The stamped design, and the final word, belong to the licensed professional and the authority having jurisdiction.

US customary or metric?

Both. Switch units in Settings; feet-and-inches entry is supported where the trade uses it.

What does Pro add?

Unlimited calculations without ads, calculation history, sharing and PDF reports, dark theme and every trade without switching. One-time purchase, no subscription.

What about the single-purpose apps — Electools, HVAC Tools and the others?

They keep working, and their pages stay on this site. TradeTools contains all of them in one app; new work goes there.
